UR JAGUARÉ, SABESP'S WORK BUILT BY THE FEC CONSORTIUM (CONASA, ETESCO, FAST), IS INAUGURATED

Water Recovery Station is part of the Novo Rio Pinheiros Program

UR (Portuguese acronym for water recovery station) Jaguaré, one of the five water recovery stations of the Novo Rio Pinheiros Program for streams in areas with informal occupations, was inaugurated by the State Government of São Paulo on Monday, December 19, 2022. The work was built by FEC Consortium (Conasa, Etesco, and Fast) that won the bidding in 2019 for the operation of sanitation in the Jaguaré and Antonico streams, with flows 300L/s and 180L/s respectively, comprising the implementation, operation, and maintenance of the stations for a 10-year period.

The Novo Rio Pinheiros Program aims to ensure that socio-environmental and sanitation actions are carried out to recover the river, an affluent to Tietê. In numbers, the Program already accounts for 2,800 liters of water recovered per second, representing more than 650,000 savings connected to Sabesp's sewage system. “Our goal of connecting 533,000 homes was met and surpassed, bringing the river back into the lives of São Paulo residents”, highlighted the Secretary of Infrastructure and Environment of the State of São Paulo, Fernando Chucre. The result was also celebrated by Governor Rodrigo Garcia: "It's great to look back and see that a dream came true."

The numbers of the Program will still grow with the start of the operation of all the water recovery stations. One of them is the Jaguaré station, which was inaugurated on Monday, and which has an additional technological innovation, pioneer in the country, that is, incorporating oxidation by ozone to the treatment process. “The objective of the Program is to carry out the continuous improvement of water, involving not only investments in works, but the inclusion of society so that the depollution process takes place over time. And that's what we believe in. When all stakeholders are involved, the results are relevant. We are proud to be part of this project that is based on the social vision of public health for the present and the future”, stated Mario Marcondes Neto, president of Conasa Infraestrutura.
